How the calculator works
First it takes the Uber or Bolt fee off the gross price. Uber is about 25 percent. Bolt is about 20 percent. Then it takes off fuel. Then the driver commission. In Germany that's usually 40 to 50 percent of net. What's left is your margin. But watch out: leasing, insurance, taxes and admin are not in there yet.

›Why is there so little left from the gross price?
Uber and Bolt keep 20 to 25 percent as a fee. Then fuel comes off. Then the driver commission. That's usually 40 to 50 percent of net. Only 20 to 30 percent of the gross often stays with the business. And leasing, insurance and taxes are not even in there yet.
›What fee do Uber and Bolt take?
Uber Germany is at about 25 percent. Bolt at about 20 percent. Both add booking fees and other costs on top. Best is to look at your last weekly payout and use the percent you actually see there.
›What about VAT?
The gross price in the calculator already includes VAT. For rides under 50 km that's 7 percent. To find your real net margin you still need to take out that tax. Use the VAT calculator for that.
