Fuel is one of your three biggest costs. Next to leasing and driver pay. And one of the most volatile. 20 cents more per liter equals 800 euros on 50,000 kilometers a year. This calculator shows your real fuel cost. Per ride, month and year.

How the calculator works

You type in the real consumption of your car. Use the numbers from your last fill-ups. Not from the brochure. Then the current price per liter. Your kilometers per month. And the average distance per ride. The calculator shows: cost per kilometer, cost per ride, cost per month and per year. So you see what fuel takes out of your math. And where you can save.

What Fahrly does for you

A car drives 50,000 kilometers a year. But every month with a different consumption. More in winter. Less in summer. City vs. highway. Fahrly's Fleet Management module (the vehicle admin) stores every fill-up. With the kilometer reading. It calculates the real consumption per car and month. So you see when a car suddenly uses 10 percent more. Usually bad tires, dragging brakes or a heavy-footed driver. With the Finance module, Fahrly factors real fuel cost into every car's margin. Instead of a flat number that's always off.

Fuel is a cost item. Treat it like one.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

What consumption values are realistic?

Real city values are above the brochure numbers. Mercedes E-Class diesel: 7 to 9 liters per 100 kilometers. VW Passat diesel: 6 to 8. Mercedes V-Class: 8 to 10. Toyota Camry Hybrid: 4 to 6. Use your real numbers from the last three months.

Is hybrid or electric worth it?

At today's prices, hybrids in the city often save 40 to 60 percent on fuel. At 50,000 kilometers per year and 3 euros saved per 100 kilometers, that's 1,500 euros. Electric saves more if you can charge cheaply. Under 30 cents per kWh. At fast chargers, the advantage is often gone.

Why is the fuel share so high?

A Mietwagen with 50,000 kilometers per year and 8 liters per 100 kilometers burns 4,000 liters per year. At 1.75 euros per liter, that's 7,000 euros. That's more than the yearly lease of some contracts. Fuel is usually the second or third-biggest cost block.
